Hidden

Hiding a cache is often more difficult than finding one but it does allow you to use a little or lot of fantasy depending on your leanings. Most of my caches have a metals theme as the area of Sweden in which I live has a rich mining and metal producing history. I will try to expand on the earthcache theme based on the metals industry in this region of Sweden. There are lots of interesting places here from an industrial architecture point of view as well. Of course, a cache portfolio wouldn’t be complete without a couple of mystery caches so I have a couple of those as well.

My hidden caches are listed on geocaching.com.

3. Söderåsen

Söderåsen is one of the high points in southern Gästrikland and I have meant to visit it for years. The motivation to do so was to place this cache. It was a day of torrential rain so will have to go back on a better day to check the cache and also to enjoy the view over the surrounding forests and fields.

1. Gavelhyttan

The first cache you hide is in some way the most exciting. Is the hiding place a good one? Is the box and it’s contents of a high enough standard? What you do is usually based on what you have already found. My first cache is hidden close to the remains of an iron making mill. Learn something of the history of this area or just bring your fishing rod with you and see if you can catch a perch or two.
